Before the reader is a comprehensive and profound explanation of the classical and monumental treatise Of Sheikh ul Islam, The Reformer, Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahaab (Rahimahullah) “The Six Fundamental Principles” by the eminent Scholar and former teacher at the Islamic University of Madinah, Sheikh Ubayd Ibn Abdullah Ibn Sulayman Al Jaabiri (Hafithahullah),. He expounds inclusively on the principles of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah related to Ikhlaas, obedience to the Muslim ruler, holding tightly to the Jama’ah and the virtues of Knowledge and the Ulamaa.
The sheikh also clarifies some of the misconceptions of those who give precedence to their intellect and human reasoning over the texts of the Qur’an, Sunnah and Ijmaa’a of the Salaf. These misconceptions have bombarded this Ummah in recent times and as the sheikh mentioned “If Sheikh ul Islam Ibnul Qayim were alive today he would have considered them to be from the modern-day Tawagheet.”
The reader will notice the very simple style and method of the sheikh in his presentation of these principles, which will make it easy for him to digest and comprehend. These principles are the foundation of the Minhaj of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah, in relation to sound Aqeedah and Minhaj. Hence it is essential for the Muslim to be diligent in understanding these principles and preserving them, as preservation of these principles is preservation of the religion of Islam, and the neglect of them is obliteration of the religion.
